Eleanor - so excited for this unfolding. What can those of us in the U.S. do at this point? Happy to write a blurb, even w/o the "reward." Reading this was its own reward.
Oh Julie, you’re such a star. Are you on NetGalley? I can send you the link for review. I’m also in the process of getting my Author Page up on Goodreads so that it can be reviewed pre-pub there, too. I’ll let you know as soon as I have a link. Likewise for the eBook. Also, any friends you have in the UK, please tell them!
It’s a trade review platform…. But this morning I managed to load the novel onto Goodreads, so if you feel like it, you could go on there and leave a review…
I'm not on NetGalley or in the UK, so I don't think I'm able to get an ARC. But I love this:
"... despite what the mainstream media likes to tell you, there’s no rush. Books last forever, the stories they contain go on and on whether they were published today or a thousand years ago or anything in between." That thought's been in my head for the past few months as I prepare to publish my second novel next year.
It’s one of the real bonuses of being an indie author. Unlike a mainstream experience where publishers can give you a frantic 6 weeks - 3 months, and hopefully a season of lit festivals and then that’s it, it’s over, the indie author can take their time.
Would your UK friends be happy to send it on out to you? Or perhaps I should ask, when will you be over in the UK? What I need is pre-publication reviews and cheerleading on any platform on which you have presence, or media outlet with which you have connections. Let me know if that sounds like a plan, and I’ll happily send a copy to your UK friends.
Oh right. That’s a good point. I wish I could say this would make it inevitable that I would finally get back over there (which I have not actually done since 2012), but it probably won’t, and I’m not sure if they’d be willing to send it. I shall just await the pending foreign rights approvals, etc.
Very glad to see this happening. You are a model for me in serializing and indie publishing!
Thank you! So nice to hear.

Also, it’s now up on Goodreads, I’d be happy to send you a pdf galley if you think you could leave a review for it there?
I would love to be an ARC reader and leave a review on Goodreads. Do you need anything from me? My goodreads profile is here: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/3927775.Elizabeth_Oldham
Can you DM me your email address?

Yes! I keep selling books even 1.5 years on....
What if I'm not in the UK but I have friends there who might hold a copy for me?
