This is the writer’s craft so elegantly illustrated. The observation, the details that cannot be concocted only witnessed; the interpretations offer an angle for readers to pick up or discard according to preference … the suggestion of characters in a book yet to be written, the ever present ‘sonder’. These are the sort of musings that make me (briefly) crave a slice of city living.

Ha! though as @Anna Schott wisely points out, I was less able to apply sonder to this pair than I was to the naked man on the streets of New York.

A whole other world so richly and intricately observed for this reader. True story telling of different moments in time peppered with such recognisable and humorous inferences that make you want to read on. Thanks for a great lesson in noticing Eleanor.
