I’ve just listen to the recording and I enjoyed it very much. Of course it’s not nice all the trouble with Unbound, but good that you’re back ! I specially loved your comment about almost crying while writing something bad happening to a fiction character!

I really enjoyed this. Have been following the Unbound story with interest/dismay. I considered approaching them back in the day, now rather glad I didn’t.

Also @eleanoranstruther I'm rejoicing at the idea of being bad at something as a source for creativity. I recently failed a walking test (who does that?!) for mountain training because I forgot to bring my glasses but styled out pretending to be able to read the map.

Oh this conversation was so uplifting! My favourite part was when you talked about writing for the love of it. When I think about my favourite stories, a gleam comes into my eyes. If you look closely at someone who is enjoying a book, you can see and feel it. The feeling comes through the writer to the reader. There is plenty of dross content to be entertained by, but this kind of writing is something special, and definitely something we need more of in a world which is increasingly AI curated or profit driven. Thank you for being so magical and giving encouragement to more of us to be bold and rebellious by writing what we love.
