Eleanor (my daughter’s name too ❤️), I am a child of the 80s and remember this. I look forward to reading this and would love to review for the Jessie Street National Women’s Library Newsletter which I co-edit. We have run pieces on women’s activism in Australia over the decades and this would be of huge interest to many of our members. Will start tonight! https://nationalwomenslibrary.org.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/07/JSNWL_Newsletter_Vol35_No3_July2024.pdf
This is my first time hearing about the Greenham Common Women, and I consider myself a long time activist (based in the U.S.) and student of social change (Pray the Devil Back to Hell is one of my favorite documentaries). So grateful to you for diving into this and writing this novel. I look forward to reading.
That it has sunk beneath the history book waves was one of the main reasons I wanted to write this book. It was a revolution, and deserves, needs to be known and not forgotten.
LIVE ammunition?? Holy fuck. I've always been so deeply moved by the images of Greenham and its extraordinary women, and am so, so looking forward to this.
Funnily I was at a gathering recently and one of my many women friends who lived on Greenham common was celebrating having just received an Irish arts council grant to make work relating to her time there and what it meant to the women. She had to explain the relevance and history to others present as no one under 50 had any idea about it and its importance.
Once again, I am late to the party as I have been traveling and been subject to all these random schedules and delays and lack of connectivity, but this is so extraordinary! I hope you don't mind me recommending you for an interview on the global Cultural Studies podcast. No pressure if not interested, I just think the host would be thrilled to chat with you given the subject matter.
Dear Ms Anstruther--hi. I'm Toby Miller, a friend of Alisa's. Would love to record a conversation with you about your work, per her suggestion. https://culturalstudies.podbean.com/ is the site. My email address is tobym69@icloud.com Our chat would take c. 45 minutes and be via the dreaded Zoom. Perhaps drop me a line there and we can set up a date. Best, and thanks for considering this, Toby
Greenham Women Everywhere! Yes, we said this in the 80s in Vermont. I hope I can get your novel here. I had no idea they were cited by the superpowers! This old hag lesbian is gonna go tell her old hag lesbian partner of 30+ years that tidbit of information right now…

Hello! And great, thrilled you'd like to review it. Also, side note, I lived in Australia for six years, Byron Bay, it's a place I feel connected to.

Superb.

Live ammunition. Oh yes. It will tear your soul, the research, and I can only tell a small part, but I will do my best.
I’m glad that their story has landed in your capable hands
Thanks honey. Whenever I’ve spoken with Greenham Women, I’ve said I just hope I do them proud. X
This is going to be fantastic Eleanor!

Yup. That echoes my experience. I fully intend to change that with this novel 🤞

And the novel will be serialised here on Substack for free, so you'll get it where you are.
Yayyyy
Woohoo! And yes, it's true, Greenham Women Everywhere!
This is fantastic. I'm tingling with anticipation of these stories in your hands. This intro alone would be any agent's dream.
I have a few friends in Extinction Rebellion who I've sent a link to your Substack. I think they'll really enjoy this (as will I.)
Oh thanks, Ollie. That's great. Much appreciated.
I am really looking forward to this!
