I was just hijacked by a memory of that room that made me laugh out loud. We were both in a gentle altered state, singing songs about chopping broccoli and other vegetables. Laughing until we cried. Rosco the banana cat by our feet. ❤️
i'm sure me and my brother have a strong memory of watching the simpsons with you after supper, and you falling asleep through the whole episode. The interesting part was that we were supposed to go to bed after the episode, but we knew that if we were still enough, then we wouldn't wake you and we could watch tv all night long.
also i miss the mountain of bourbon biscuits that we would eat (very unhealthy)
I wish I'd been sober throughout your childhood. I know I wasn't a raging drunk, I was totally manageable and what appeared to be a social drinker, but those tech time hours were my secret drinking hours and after I'd be not sober, and tired, and, as you say, fall asleep in front of the tv with you, wake up with a headache long after you should have been in bed, or at least not watching tv, doing something else. We'd still have had the mountain of bourbon biscuits though.
