Looking at this, I am reminded... There was so much Native American indigenous singing at Nevada test site... We were all holding hands, dancing in a circle. We radiated pure joy and strength. Everything was organized (meals, legal, infrastructure--there was no one "person" in charge. Good faith was the operative dynamic. The non-violent campers were contrasted by the DOE soldiers, all in military fatigues on these Mad Max dune buggies patrolling the area. Still, we felt beyond powerful. It was surreal to behold as a teenager.
I can’t imagine how many dislocated shoulders there were that day. They didn’t even try to treat them like human beings. So angry from watching that I need a walk. 😡

How beautiful to have been there. I applaud & salute you. Until a person experiences that collective it’s hard to conceive of the power.
Of course, I sound like I'm romanticizing it, but for a young girl who'd seen very little of life at that point, lol... it was.
This brings flashbacks of disgust and longing, every anti-feminist I ever argued with!
Good grief they were pigs!
Pigs. It makes me rage.
Whoa! I’m with Julie. Grrrr
Here’s testament to your writing. I had never seen images from Greenham. And yet this is exactly what my mind’s eye saw as I read.
Oh, H, thanks so much. That means a lot
A breakthrough series: reveals what should be known.
