I'm fascinated by the mind of someone who follows charlatans and lives blissfully unaware that they are in a cult. I say this with no judgement, just fascination and empathy. I've always said my bullshit detector is on high alert 24/7, but I'm not sure that's the best approach either.
I'm fascinated too, having been that person. There's lots that made me vulnerable to that kind of bullshit; a deep sense of searching without being aware what question I was asking played a big part in why I got involved over and again with charlatans. It took me a long time to wake up.
