A beautiful close. Perhaps you could ask me a question for This Writing Life--and we could discuss the novel, its structure, how you handled so many characters. An idea anyway--and we would make sure that we focused on the craft so that it fits with our mantra. And, for me, I simply love talking with you.
Late to the party here, but congratulations on what feels to me like "The Bad Sisters" (which I loved) meets a feminist "Chekhov of the home counties" which I believe is how they used to refer to John Cheever here... to highlight the gravity of his darkness. You must feel as though you've climbed Everest. The whole world of the book holds together so vividly, but without hyperbole. I was riveted and could see every frame as a film. I'm so excited for spaces like this making work like this possible. Revel in it! Huzzah to you!!!
"Bad Sisters meets Chekhov of the Home Counties" - if that isn't a front cover blurb I don't know what is! Genius 😂. I'm honoured. I do feel like I've climbed Everest. And thanks so much for that feedback, that means the world.
I would absolutely LOVE to interview you about this story. It’s been on a sticky note for over a month now. I have a series of interviews to get through currently but I promise to DM you when I’m ready for a deep dive with you. 🙏
Wow. I am glad that Substack exists so that you could publish your novel here. I am still trying to catch up since I’ve come a little late to the party, but what I’ve read has so very much impressed me. I really appreciate your other writing as well. ❤️
Firstly congratulations 🥳 secondly I adored it. I was waiting years ago and it’s been worth it. You’re a miracle and so is your work. What a job 😘😜always Mel

Congrats, Eleanor. Now that I know you have reached the end I must begin at the start :)

Oh gosh, Kimberly what an honour! Will look forward x 😊
The honor would be all mine. ;)
I've been waiting for this day so I can start reading this! I like to binge.
All yours... 😊
I’m 1/3 into “A Perfect Explanation,” completely hooked, already devastated. It’s certain I will read this one next. I’m in awe of your craft.
Julie, thanks so much.

Mel, I love you & miss you x
Congratulations, Eleanor - "In Judgement of Others" is a dark triumph, it reminds me of "The Ice Storm" with it's slow unfolding toward tragedy.
Troy, thanks so much. "A dark triumph" I'll take that. Honoured. 🙌
Thankyou for being my inspirational wise writer friend who will always be a year younger than me! ❤️
Hahahaha ❤️🙌🐢
