It’s great to read the backstory on Laurie Stone’s stack. “Long feminist pieces, who knew?” That is great to know! I’m writing about my divorced NYC artist parents and unearthing my mother’s lost career in my father’s shadow.

Discovering Laurie Stone's superb writing has been one of the best things for me about being on Substack, so it's great to hear she plans to be around for a while.

Wonderful interview. I really appreciated hearing about Laurie’s approach to Substack. It’s encouraging to hear about a writer using it to share thoughtful, considered work, rather than a lot of other stuff I see really promoting it as what feels like a hustle (with a focus much more on generating income and followers).

Another thing to love about Substack - to have regular access to quality literary writing by a pro. I like the idea of a regular zoom to connect with readers around shared interests.

Lovely. I'll be packing to move, but it would be a good break. Thanks!

Thanks Eleanor. The interview led me to read Laurie's last essay, which was fascinating. I find that a deadline is helpful to me as well.

Great interview, I love the respect and dedication to the craft, it's inspiring to see a growing paid readership despite nothing being paywalled, and great attitude in general toward writing online with an emphasis on quality and consistency.
