Poor Clare! My feeling sorry for Ros has lessened. Another chapter perfectly executed.

So many hearts in conflict with themselves and each other--I know I sound like a cheesy version of Saunders. But you can just see this stew of emotions boiling over in an explosive instapot of coke, vodka, blood, bitter half-truths, and vulnerabilities... Can't wait for the next!

The awful night that won't stop being awful.

Wow, the pressure is this scene between Ros and Clare, unrelenting. Talk about pulling all the betrayals here coming to the fore.

Poor Clare…

A random or not, thought… Is the Labrador called Crosby black…? Yet more nostalgia if so, my best childhood friend until she died aged 13 was a black lab called Crosby.

Yes, both Crosby & Nash are black labs …

This chapter highlights Ros's powers as a seductress. My sympathy is with Clare even as I know she's making a huge error. The most intriguing question to me is whether Ros knows that she's leading Clare on and whether Ros wants to create a "scene" where she can push Clare away. Is Clare just another supporting actor in the script of Ros's life?

Stunning writing. I felt like I was in the room witnessing Clare's car crash moment. Such a great scene.
