The poster in that photo is a marvel! Bridget is getting stronger and stronger and then I think what if this was my kid?! Really like how we get parents' and Bridget's perspective in this one.
10 years before this my sister did the same as Bridget. Went back to boarding school. At Heathrow she put my youngest sister on the plane to Edinburgh and disappeared into London. It took me a month to find her. She was living in a gypsy’s caravan in Westbourne Grove, making light shows for bands. She was 16, so my parents could not do much about it, other than keep in touch through me. She hasn’t changed 😂

This scene is perfectly timed right after the women open Bridget’s eyes to the world as it is. She’s seeing her parents in a new light.
“Do you want to end up like your mum?” Ray?!!!
Aw the truths we’re blind to and then not. And the implications that remain out of our sight when the truth surfaces.
Love these characters, Eleanor. Fabulously flawed. Can’t wait to see what they do next
🙃
'“That’s the point,” said her dad. “Do you want to end up like your mum?”'
The scampi-shovelling father shows his true colours.
Oof!
I also winced when Ray said that.
On the other hand, the parents are being patient, not following through on an ultimatum, not dragging their daughter away forcibly. At least not yet.
